About FinCalc

Our Mission

FinCalc was built on three principles: accuracy, transparency, and free access. Financial planning tools should not require a subscription, a login, or a trust-leap on opaque black-box formulas. Every calculator on this site shows its methodology clearly, uses verified formulas, and runs entirely in your browser — no data ever leaves your device.

Who Builds FinCalc

FinCalc is built and maintained by [YOUR NAME], a finance and technology professional with [e.g. 8 years in UAE retail banking / CFA Level 1 / software engineer with a finance degree]. View LinkedIn profile →

Prior to building FinCalc, [YOUR NAME] worked at [e.g. a UAE commercial bank / a fintech startup / a mortgage advisory firm], where hands-on experience with loan origination, DBR assessments, and mortgage underwriting informed the design of every UAE-specific tool on this site.

Our Calculation Methodology

Each calculator uses industry-standard formulas verified against the following authoritative sources:

  • UAE tools — formulas cross-referenced with CBUAE official guidelines on the Debt Burden Ratio (50% cap for personal loans and credit facilities).
  • US & Canadian mortgage tools — based on the standard 28/36 rule per Freddie Mac lending standards and standard amortisation formulas.
  • Forex & trading tools — based on standard lot size conventions from CME Group and industry-standard position sizing models.
  • Debt payoff tools — snowball and avalanche formulas verified against standard amortisation schedules and widely published personal finance methodologies.

Editorial Process

Each calculator is reviewed against official regulatory guidelines before publication. We check formula accuracy, boundary conditions, and output presentation before any tool goes live. When regulatory guidelines change (e.g. CBUAE updates), we update the relevant calculators and refresh the “Last reviewed” date displayed on each tool. Last reviewed: May 2026.

Privacy & Data Handling

All calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We do not send, store, log, or transmit any financial data you enter into any calculator on this site. No account is required. Your numbers never leave your device.

We use Google Analytics for anonymous traffic measurement (page views, session counts) and Google AdSense for ad serving. Neither service receives the numerical inputs you enter into any calculator. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
